Inspirational Women and Their Mornings: Ashleigh Scott

Welcome to ‘Inspiration Women and Their Mornings’. A new series where I interview amazing women about their morning routines, in the hope of gaining a little insight into what makes them so inspirational in the first place. (+ I also kind of hope that some of that amazingness with rub off on me in the process…. here’s hoping)

So, let’s get inspired ladies.

This week we’re chatting with Ashleigh Scott!!

I thought to kick off this series (which I am very excited about) I would start with the natural skincare queen Ashleigh Scott.

Now if you haven’t heard of Ashleigh Scott, where have you been!! She is the most AMAZING Natural Facialist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I first met Ashleigh through Instagram, where we would comment on each other’s posts as we share a similar interest in wellness and natural beauty. I then decided to book in for one of her facials, and I haven’t looked back since.

I have been known to say that if you ever have the pleasure of experiencing one of her facials you will book your next once as soon as you leave.  It’s like you can’t possibly imagine them not being a part of your life.

I hope you enjoy the first ever “Inspirational Women and Their Mornings”.  Take it away Ashleigh…..

  1. What time do you wake up and what is the first thing you do in the mornings?

I wake up around 6.30 every morning and let me puppy out. I like to get straight in the shower. This wakes me up and gets me ready for the day.

  1. Do you exercise in the mornings and if so what type of exercise?

I try to get in a quick dog walk before starting my day. If for some reason we can’t get out in the morning, I will do some stretching. I struggle with exercising in the morning, but a gentle walk or stretching really helps to focus me and get me in a good working headspace.

  1. What’s your typical breakfast during the week?

Some kind of smoothie or oats. I like to cram as much goodness into my breakfasts as possible, so no matter what else I have during the day, at least I had a good breakfast!

  1. Do you have a weekend morning routine and if so what do you do and what’s your favourite breakfast on the weekends?

I don’t often sleep in, but I like to lie in bed for a while and have cuddles with my puppy. We often go out for brunch on the weekends and I love getting eggs and some kind of fresh juice.

  1. Is there anything you have to do each morning in order to feel centred and ready for the day?

I am trying to get in the habit of doing some kind of meditation or visualisation work. Its not quite part of my routine yet, so I have to really make myself take that time. But I do love the effect that has on my day!

  1. What’s your morning vice: coffee/ a sleep in / avocado toast / last night’s leftovers??

I’m actually not a coffee drinker at all! I can’t do anything until I’ve had a shower and had breakfast, I can’t focus or think about anything else until I am clean and fresh and have something in my stomach.

  1. Describe your perfect morning?

A lie in and puppy cuddles, followed by a stroll to the local café for brunch. Perhaps a bit of business brainstorming and planning, and then back to work.

  1. What are your top 3 tips for feeling and looking your best?

  • I try to have very few stimulants in my diet, I don’t drink caffeine or alcohol
  • Keeping in a good headspace is really important, I do yoga and have regular massages and reiki treatments, this makes sure I am always at the top of my game
  • Have fun! This is something I have had to really challenge myself on lately, as my life can get so serious running two businesses. But its so important to do something you love everyday that makes you happy.
  1. Please share with us your favourite breakfast recipe that always makes you feel amazing and ready for the day.

My bowl of goodness – I love making my own bircher muesli. Its such an easy way to put tonnes of nutrients into one bowel.

In a bowel overnight I soak:

  • Oats
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Chia seeds
  • Brazil nuts
  • Almonds
  • Coconut
  • Prunes
  • Dried apricots

In the morning I add coconut yoghurt, buckwheat, grated apple and a drizzle of Bestow Beauty Oil. So great for your skin and body!

  1. Bonus questions: Are you listening to any good podcasts at the moment or reading any inspirational books?

Always! I am obsessed with audio-books and always have one on in the car. At the moment I am listening to The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma
