Part 2: Super Food Smoothies

Wahoo it’s time for part two of my super food smoothie series, using the delicious Chantal freeze dried powders.

As you know, a few weeks ago I shared two delicious super food smoothie recipes, one was a carrot and mango smoothie and the other a broccoli and chocolate smoothie. Today I’m going to share two completely new recipes using the final two freeze dried powders from Chantal.

I hope you enjoy these and that they inspire you to get creative in the kitchen and start blitzing some seriously incredible superfood smoothies for Summer.

Let’s begin…

Kale + Pineapple Super Food Smoothie:

(serves 2)

Green smoothies are an essential part of my diet. They’re such a great way to pack in lots of goodness and they’re also really quick and easy to make. I’m always looking for new ways to take my green smoothie to the next level and that’s exactly where this kale powder comes in. Just 1 tsp of the powder is the equivalent of 10-12 cups of fresh kale!! How amazing is that.

After my play in the kitchen, I’ve discovered  another yummy green smoothie recipe, which again uses this kale powder to really super-boost it. This smoothie is perfect as a pre or post workout snack, or as an easy breakfast on the go. Enjoy lovelies.

  • 1 tsp of kale powder
  • ½ cup of pineapple
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • 1-2 celery stalks
  • ½ Lemon
  • a knob of ginger
  • a handful of mint
  • 2 tsp of chia seeds
  • 1 tsp of coconut oil (melted)
  • a handful of spinach

Blend well and drink immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge, for a quick and easy snack on the go.

Beetroot + Berry Super Food Smoothie:

(serves 2)

This beetroot and berry smoothie is a really powerful smoothie, as it gives you a huge dose of energy and nutrients, as well as jam packing your diet with many antioxidants to keep you healthy and well.

I’m sure you know that beetroot is very cleansing for the body and so is a great vegetable to get into your diet as we head into the silly season. I love this smoothie as a morning snack, or poured into a bowl and topped with little bird granola for a quick and easy breakfast.    

  • 2 tsp of beetroot powder
  • 1 cup of berries (blackberries or raspberries or a mix)
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • ½ a frozen banana
  • 2 medjool dates
  • 2 tbsp of pumpkin seeds
  • ¼ avocado

Blend well and then top with some nuts and seeds or a little coconut.

And there you have it, two more super food smoothies to fill your diet with goodness and help you to head into summer feeling your best. I hope you enjoy them and you’re now feeling confident to try a few new smoothie creations yourself.
