Good morning lovelies,
Now you’re all probably well aware from my post-yoga breakfast snaps, that I’ve become a little bit of a yogi!! Not to say I can do crazy backbends or handstands, but I can finally touch my toes (which is quite an achievement for me) and I can definitely savasana like no other (hehe).
With all this extra sweating going on, I’ve found that I need to step up my post-workout game. Honestly, I’ve never really had to think too much about post-workout fuel, other than making sure I eat within the hour of working out. This is because I’ve always felt great after my workouts and had heaps of energy.
But let me tell you, this has changed dramatically as I’ve begun hot yoga. I’m now finding myself needing to refuel sooner rather than later. Also if I get a little bit lazy and perhaps don’t make the best protein rich breakfast, then I find myself playing catch up throughout the day and craving quick pick me ups, like coffee and bread, which is definitely not ideal.
But don’t worry, I’ve got it all sorted now. After spending some time in the kitchen whipping up many different protein rich smoothies, I have finally landed on this creamy, choc chip smoothie, which is without a doubt the most delicious protein packed smoothie that I have ever made!! I know big statement, but trust me once you whip it up you’ll soon realise why. I mean it pretty much tastes like chocolate chip coconut ice cream all blended into creamy goodness. I mean really, what more could you want after a hard workout? Plus it’s jam packed with all those essential nutrients, proteins, fats, carbohydrates and electrolytes which you loose during all that sweeting and calorie burning.
So lovelies, I’m challenging you to get your toned yoga butt (or whatever’s your punishment of choice is) into the kitchen and start blending. Trust me it will give you the energy boost you need and more importantly it will ensure you’re able to get straight back into into your downward dog, while still feeling your best.
Enjoy my fellow yogi’s xx
