Welcome lovelies, to this month Latest and Greatest Post. Trust you’ve all had a fantastic February and are ready to head into the month of March refreshed and with a jump in your step.
Some exciting new goodies to share with you this month… the most amazing protein packed gluten free pasta, a super hydrating and delicious new drink, a new range of perseveres that I have so enjoyed testing, some delicious icecream + a creamy caffeine free latte that is almost too pretty to drink. So let’s get into it…..
Eco Organics GF Pasta’s
Over the past few months I’ve talked aout quite a few different gluten free pastas, but I just can’t help myself, there are so many amazing ones popping up all the time + I mean who doesn’t love a creamy bowl of spaghetti after a hard days work…..am I right?
When I come home, or finish up with a client after a really buzy day, a big bowl of creamy pasta just seems to call out to me. I love the ease of it, I love how nourishing it tastes + I also love how I can fill it with a bunch of veggies, which makes me feel a little less guilty for eating a whole plate of carbohydrates (haha). What I’m trying to say is that I still want my pasta to be healthy and good for me and so not only do I add veggies, but I also choose a gluten free pasta, which is less inflammatory for my body. Thankfully, there are so many amazing gluten free pastas emerging that going GF, even if it is only occasionally, is so much easier.
Now it’s no easy feat coming across a GF pasta that tastes good, is good for you at the same time and doesn’t fall apart the second you cook it. But, lucky for us I have now found the perfect GF pasta range. This range will transform the way you think of gluten free or “healthy” pasta. Eco Organics is the brand and they have lots of different flavours from brown rice pad thai noodles, to black bean spaghetti, or chickpea fettuccine, brown rice penne and so many more!!!! All of them are made using a legume that makes them not only delicious, but also really high in fibre and protein. Now that’s the kind of pasta that I want to be eating… what about you?
So far I’ve trialed the black bean spaghetti (which was really yummy with a tomatoes sauce) and also the brown rice pad Thai noodles (which I loved with a creamy cashew dressing). I have been so impressed with the texture, flavour and nutritional value of all of them that I can happily and confidently give them my big tick of approval. So if you’re like me and after a long day at work, a bowl of warming pasta is just what you fancy, then you need to pick up a packet of Eco Organics pasta and add something truly nutritious and delicious to your dinner.
Awaka Sparkling Coconut Water
If you’re a lover of coconut water, then you’re going to love these. They’re a new range of sparkling coconut waters that are made in New Zealand and that are sweetened with either blackcurrant and apple juice or lemon and apple juice. I absolutely love having a glass at the end of the day, while I sit out on the deck or as a nice little hydrating post workout drink.
They are free of refined sugars and additives, which make this a guilt free drink to curb the thirst on a hot summer day. My favourite of the two is the blackcurrant, but that’s mainly because I know how amazing blackcurrants are for us and so I love any excuse to get them into my diet. I’m really excited to share with you this new range of organic preserved foods, which I’ve been adding to my diet recently. Now I know it might seem a little strange to be telling you about a range of foods that come in a jar, but trust me, if you like keeping a few jars of food handy in the fridge for finishing off or adding to your meals, then this is the range for you, they are delicious
Firstly, you hardly every come across a range that’s organic, so that is a huge plus to start with and secondly, they are free of all the preserving additives that seem to get snuck into much of our food these days.
They have quite a big range of food, from olives (umm yum!!), to sweet corn, organic kale (I know that sounds strange but trust me its pretty cool), vegan mayonnaise (wahoo) and lots of other goodies that I’ve been lucky enough to try. Oh and don’t let me forget, they also have a big jar of gherkins which I love!!!! So yes, you could definitely say I’ve loved trialling this range.
I really do believe that the more organic foods we have in our diet, the healthier we will be. So please start to slowly make the switch to more organic brands and foods to ensure that your diet gets as many healthy nutrients as possible, will minimizing the preservatives, toxins and chemicals.
Little Island Nice Cream
I wasn’t going to add this delicious Nice Cream to the list this month, but I’ve been wanting to do a post about it for so long that I just couldn’t wait any longer. So here you have it, an extra latest and greatest goodie this month, the delicious Little Island Nice Cream…..Right so what’s Nice Cream? Well it’s the most scrumptious vegan, dairy free ice cream alternative made with coconut cream! Its thick and creamy, its mouth watering and irresistible, which is exactly why I can’t trust myself to keep a container in my fridge (haha).
Since going vegan 4 years ago I have tried lots and lots of dairy-free ice creams, but let me tell you from the start Little Island Nice Cream has always been my number one favourite. I think it’s the fact that it tastes so much like a creamy gelato ice cream, that even die hard ice cream lovers can’t seem to say no to it.
My favourite flavour would have to be the chocolate or mango, but let’s be honest here, I wouldn’t turn down a bowl of vanilla either (haha). Next week on the blog I’m sharing a delicious recipe for a “summer loving fruit salad”, which I serve with a dollop of Little Island Nice Cream with a few superfood sprinkles on top. Oh and don’t forget this is still a treat (even if it is vegan), so please don’t go over board and think you can have it every night. Instead savour it and enjoy it when one of those sweet cravings hits.
Nutra Organics Velvet Latte
For the lucky last goodie today, I thought I would share my new favorite Red Velvet latte, which has hints of beetroot, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon plus other delicious warming notes that make it perfect for those early morning starts. I’m sure you’ve come across, or heard of the all the new caffeine free latte mixes that are popping up at the moment. You can get matcha latte mixes, turmeric lattes, chai lattes and so many more, but I love this one as it has the best of both worlds. You get the spicy kick from the cayenne and ginger, plus you get the sweetness from the vanilla and cinnamon and you also get an amazing antioxidant boost from the beetroot, ginger and turmeric. I mean really what more could you want out of a latte.
Since removing coffee from my diet a few months ago I’ve been on the look out for something that will take its place. I’ve been after something delicious, warming, nourishing and tasty , but also something easy to whip up ….. yahoo..now I’ve found it.
How to Make a Red Velvet Latte: All you have to do is add 1-2 tsp of the mixture into your mug and add a splash of hot water or some warm nut mylk and mix well. Then heat the rest of the nut mylk on a stove before quickly blending it all in your blender for 10 seconds to make it extra creamy and frothy. Pour into your mug and either have it as is, or add a tiny drizzle of maple syrup or coconut sugar. Enjoy.
