Good morning lovelies and Happy April. I’m pinching myself that we’re in April already, but isn’t it exciting that each new month brings the opportunity for us to vary what we eat and how we dress. For me there have certainly been a few exciting changes going on.
For starters I have a new Website, Blog, Brand and Name all up and running, which I’m so excited about and secondly, I have just released my new Wellness Talk for the month, all about creating a Healthy Gut. The first workshop is all booked out but there are still some spots available in the second workshop if you would like to have a look here.
So yes, the last few months have been busy, but I’m excited with all the new changes and I can’t wait to show you some other exciting new programs and specials that I’m releasing next month. Make sure to sign up to my newsletter in the side bar to be the first to hear about them all.
Ok enough about that, let’s move onto this months Latest and Greatest post. I’ve got a little bit of everything for you this month from a set of eco lunch boxes (which I really rate), a great new natural eczema treatment range, the most delicious GF crackers that I’ve ever tried, my absolutely favourite tea brand + some delicious Easter chocolates to help you celebrate Easter.
So let’s get into it and check out my favourite latest and greatest products for April.
Meals in Steel Containers:
I don’t know about you, but I can always do with more containers to store my lunch and leftovers in. But I don’t just want any old lunchbox or container. No, I want something that will not only keep my food fresh, but that will also look nice (since let’s be honest, that’s important) and that won’t contaminate my food with chemicals (obviously very important!!). And that’s how I came across this incredible range of stainless steel, NZ made, lunch boxes. The perfect alternative to your plastic containers that will keep your food fresh and healthy all day.
Thankfully there’s a huge range to choose from, so no matter what your lunchbox needs are, whether you’re wanting something for your snacks, your salads for work, or even your chia pudding, they have you covered.
This really is such a great range of containers and I can’t recommend enough for anyone who needs or wants to pack some food for later, or has kids and is hunting for a healthy lunchbox alternative.
So please thrown away all your plastic containers and start switching to a more eco friendly alternative, that’s also better for your health.
Give me anything natural and eco as a beauty range and I’ll be happy (hehe). I think it’s definitely safe to say I jumped at the opportunity to trial the new range of natural beauty products from the incredible Frankie Apothecary. There are four items in the full range, but today I’m just going to share my three favourites.
Colloidal Oat Bath Soak: Let me make this simple, if you have a bath, then you need this bath soak!!! It is 100% organic colloidal oats, which you pour into your bath and let them work their magic. It turns the water into a creamy and nourishing bath, which leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth that you’ll never want to get out. If you suffer from itchy skin or eczema then you’re also going to love this bath soak!!!
Kawakawa Balm: I’ve been using this balm quite a lot recently to really see how I find it and let me tell you its pretty amazing. Kawakawa is an incredible plant that’s known to help soothe and repair damaged skin and that’s exactly why this balm is so beneficial and handy to have on hand. It’s best used for healing eczema or irritated skin but it can also be used as a lip balm (which I love), as hand cream, for cuts and bruises and any bug bites. Think of it as your every use balm.
Sun Screen and Bug Repellent: I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit hesitant when first trying this natural sun screen, mainly because I’ve previously had a bad experience with a natural sunscreen, but I was really surprised. The Frankie Apothecary sun screen smells really clean and fresh and is easy to rub in. I also like knowing that I’m not applying a bunch of chemicals to my skin, which never sat right with me, and I also love how it’s a bug repellent. Matt (my husband) always gets attacked by mosquitoes in summer and so its been really nice having something that was natural that he could use to help deter them. Definitely a summer time must if you ask me.
Theirs is also a natural chest rub, which I haven’t tried yet, but if you want to check it out or read more about this awesome Kiwi owned business, then make sure to head over to their website: http://www.frankieapothecary.co.nz
Health Discovery Crackers:
Now this is the type of new exciting product that makes me really happy. Firstly, how cool is the packaging!! I mean it makes me want to buy it and I don’t even know what it is (very clever). Secondly, the majority of my clients are gluten free and so when I come across a gluten free, carb-y delicious snack that I know they’re going to love, I get very excited. And lastly, THEY TASTE SO SCRUMMY. Please remove the box from my kitchen….as I’ve just coated ten in peanut butter and now can’t stop…very addictive!
So if you’re gluten free or if you know that like most of us gluten weighs us down and makes us feel….what’s the word “stodgy, fat, tired, drained, sleepy and my personal favourite….UGGGHHH” then you’re going to want to try these. They are hands down my NEW favourite cracker and I love being able to head into the pantry at around 3-4 PM and whip up a snack that’s not going to weigh me down and that is actually nourishing for my body.
Now there are four completely different crackers for you to choose from:
- Paelo four seeds – rich in flax, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
- Rosemary Thyme and Garlic – rich in brown rice flour, flax seeds and delicious herbs
- Black and White Sesame sea salt and chives – rich in brown rice flour, flax seeds, sesame seeds and chives
- Four Seeds, Turmeric and Cumin: – rich in flax, pumpkin, sunflower seeds and delicious spices
All of them are dairy free, gluten free, paleo and are jam packed with whole foods. So you definitely need to go pick up a box to try, right now. My favourite flavour at the moment would have to be the black and white sesame seed, which goes so well with a little avocado and kimchi on top. Perfection!!!!
(Make sure to follow me on social media to be the first to see next weeks’ prize pack where you’ll get the chance to win a pack of each of these delicious crackers + more).
Ever since stumbling across this beautiful range while hunting for an organic English breakfast tea, I’ve been hooked. My tea draw is filled with a selection of their vibrant colored boxes and it brings me so much joy each day to pick and choose my teas from such a beautiful range.
I enjoy starting my mornings with a cup of English breakfast tea made with my homemade almond milk. I’ll then mix and match my tea throughout the day depending on my mood. Some days I’ll crave the freshness of the mint tea, where as others I’ll want something a little sweeter and more girly and then you’ll find me sipping a cup of the blackcurrant beauty. I’ll always end the day with a peppermint tea or chamomile tea to help me unwind and relax for the evening.
Now if you’re not a big tea drinker, now’s your chance to open your horizons and give it a go. The weather is starting to cool, and really, what beats holding onto a warming cup of tea on a cold winters morning. Plus, it’s so much better for you than a cup of coffee and won’t cause you to crash in the afternoon or put your adrenals under stress. The truth is…tea is a much healthier and cleaner option for the body, so why not give yourself a little treat each day that not only tastes good, is beautiful, but that is also nourishing and fills the body with antioxidants.
My favorite teas to cure…
- Headaches: chamomile, lavender or peppermint
- Bloating and digestive upsets: Peppermint or chamomile
- Low energy: Mint Matcha Green
- Sleeplessness: Lavender
- Anxiety: Chamomile
The final reason why I’m such a big fan of the Pukka range of teas is because they’re organic!!!! This is so important, especially if your drinking a few cups of tea a day (like I do) as it means that you’re not consuming a whole lot of chemicals with each cup of tea. I’ve made the switch to only organic tea….have you?
Moo Free Easter Chocolate Range:
Of course since Easter is literally right around the corner, I just had to sneak in some chocolatey goodies for you all. This has definitely been a challenge this month, especially since I’ve been trying so hard to be good and not give into my chocolate cravings, but let me tell you when you’re photographing chocolate…it’s damn near impossible haha.
I’ve talked about this range of dairy free chocolate before, but I thought I’d share it again since they have this adorable range of Easter eggs and Easter bunnies. They’re not the healthiest chocolates around and this is definitely not permission to eat a whole bunch, but it is Easter and therefore I believe treats should be allowed.
So if you’re dairy free like me, then I definitely recommend trying this scrummy range of Moo Free Chocolates and so be sure to satisfy that chocolate craving this Easter. Remember though to savor every little bite, not hoover them all in one go.
And that’s it, another month all done and dusted. I really hope you enjoyed this month’s collection of latest and greatest goodies and if you have any questions about any any of the products I talked about please comment below. I’d love to hear from you.
# On another note, there are still 3 spots available for my Healthy Gut Guide Wellness Talk this month. All the details are here and if you would like to book in just email me at email@example.com and i’ll get back to you right away. Trust me, if you have any gut problems like bloating, reflux or IBS, then this is the talk for you!!
