Hey lovelies, did you have a fab Easter weekend? I definitely did. I managed to fit in some much needed R & R with a few sleep in (that’s when Bacio, my cat, didn’t decided to climb all over me). I worked up some new recipes that I’m excited to share with you …but mainly I just took it easy and enjoyed slowing down. Which sometimes really is the hardest thing to do.
Now there are a few things that I wanted to talk to you guys about today.
So, first up let’s talk about weight loss. This is something that I discuss with most of my clients regularly, since let’s be honest, even if you’re the healthiest and cleanest eater, you still (9 times out of 10) want to know what you can be doing to either loose that last little bit of weight, or just make sure that no more sneaks back on. Am I right?
So I thought I would let you in on a few of my favourite tips and tricks to help you to loose those last few kgs that don’t seem to want to leave, and also how I help my clients to keep it off once removed.
My Five Secret Weight Loss Tips That All My Clients Follow:
1.Focus on filling your diet with all the good food you can eat, rather than focusing on what you can’t have. This is something that I get all of my clients to do and trust me, it works like a charm. Who here has told themselves that you’re not going to eat junk food for two whole weeks, to then go out the next day and buy a big bag of lollies and pig out until you feel sick (I’ve definitely been there). So, how about thinking about doing this instead. Don’t focus on what you can’t have, instead I want you to focus on what you can have. Tell yourself that you can have some mango, lots of avocado, coconut yogurt, bircher muesli’s and so on and see if that doesn’t help you to stay on track. I know it works for me and it definitely works for my clients, so why not give it a go.
2. Plan, plan and plan some more: No one wants to spend heaps of time coming up with a meal plan each week, but if you want to loose weight and keep it off, then this is a must. It doesn’t need to be hard. Why not start with just planning your dinners for the work week and then go from there. Once you get into the swing of things it becomes second nature and something you can’t do without, so please just give it a go.
3. Include a treat meal into your week: Yes, you heard me right, I’m encouraging you to eat a treat meal. But that’s just one treat meal, not five and it’s one meal, not one whole day. Sometimes without even really realising it, treats can slip into our diets more often than not. We get takeout’s one night, a chocolate pastry the next day, a handful of lollies at work and before you know it you’ve accidentally had a treat everyday. See how easy that can be. So pull it back, focus on just one and like I said above, plan, plan, plan!!
4. Don’t drink your calories: Ok ladies you need to put down any cans of coke, fizzy drinks, extra large venti caramel macchiato and put a stop to drinking your calories. Instead pick up a green tea (its so good for you and it even boosts your metabolism) try a match latte, drink lots of water and of course lets not forget to down a green smoothie each day. Because, let’s be honest, green smoothies are amazing and should immediately become your new best friend if weight loss is your main goal.
5. Relax and take some time for yourself: If your stressed, you will not loose weight! That’s because your body will be holding onto the fat as protection against the stress it’s feeling. So things like work deadlines, money issues, family issues and/or maybe the odd relationship stress can all affect your metabolism (which is definitely not ideal). So if this sounds familiar then maybe what you need to do is spend a few minutes unwinding and relaxing when ever you feel stressed!. Don’t head to the fridge and suppress your emotions with food, try relaxing first. Perhaps even journaling and letting everything out. This will calm you down and also help your body to relax, which will, in the long term help you to loose weight and also keep it off.
So there you have it, five of my favourite little tips and tricks that I use all the time with my clients when they want help to loose weight fast. Obviously there are hundreds of different things that you can be doing each day to help your body to loose weight and also to help you to keep it off, but this is a great start and will definitely make a big difference if you commit to them.
My New One Month Weight Loss Program
Now that I’ve gone over my favourite weight loss tips, I wanted to talk to you about a new program that I’ve created and will be opening up at the start of next month.
What it is is a one-month weight loss program, that aims to get your energy up, to help you loose weight and also feel your best!! Since weight loss really is the main area that I focus on with my clients, I thought it would be good to create a program that would inspire you to set some new goals, to push yourself and to also feel incredible after the Summer months…..given summer is when we tend to drink and eat too much, maybe skip the gym, sleep in and put aspects of our healthcare on hold, all while we relax and enjoy the sunshine. Don’t get me wrong, that’s fine and I’m all for having a great time, but summer’s over and now is the time to get back on track.
What my NEW one-month program involves?
Firstly, you come and see me (either in person or via skype) and we will come up with a personalised plan for you to follow for the month.
