I.E Produce Latest and Greatest in November

I can’t quite believe it, but this is my last IE Produce Latest and Greatest post for the year and also for the next few months. WOW, this year has truly flown by and it still seems so crazy to me that in just eight short weeks we’ll be welcoming the newest addition into our family. I mean really, where has the time gone!!

Now as you can probably imagine, my mind has been a little preoccupied and somewhat of a baby brain. I have a million to-do lists written up and my days are filled with getting myself and the house ready for the little one’s arrival. Not surprisingly, a few changes have occurred with my diet and lifestyle and so I thought I would share the newest goodies that have made their way into my life over the last month.

If you are wondering if all the items that I’m about to share with you are pregnancy related, then the answer is yes, But they don’t have to be. Most of what I share with you below can easily be added to your life and diet even if you’re not pregnant. So, enjoy Lovelies.

Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein Powder

Let me tell, since being pregnant, protein smoothies have become my new favourite mid-morning and/or afternoon snack. I love how they keep me full and luckily they’re one of the foods that I’m craving and looking forward to each day (oh the joys of pregnancy).

I knew that I really had to understand all I could about protein powders, in order to decide which were going to be part of my new regime. And that’s how I came to try the delicious “Garden of Life” range, which thankfully comes in little sachets so you can find your favourite flavours before buying in bulk. Because, let’s be honest no one likes spending $80 on a protein powder only to find that it tastes awful. Been there, done that!

So, you’re probably thinking, what is it that makes these protein powders so amazing. And the answer is simple, because they are full of great ingredients. That is, instead of being a processed protein powder like so many, they use all organic products and add in really amazing ingredients such as pea protein powder, buckwheat and amaranth sprout, chia seeds, chlorella, flax seeds and other nutrient dense seeds, powders and beans. They also use organic cacao to get that chocolate hit and they also add in a bunch of raw probiotics and enzymes. So, you can see that not only are you getting a great source of protein, but also a bunch of healthy bacteria for your gut. This is really important for me at the moment, as I know that my gut health will impact the health of my baby’s and so I love knowing that each day I’m getting in a bunch of probiotics without having to think about it.

What I’ve done in preparation bubs arrival in Jan, is stock up with two big containers of the vanilla and chocolate powder (my two favs) since I know that come the new year, I won’t be having as much time to whip up all my favourite meals and healthy snacks. Knowing that I can make a smoothie in just a few minutes is going to be a lifesaver. Plus, I can drink it while breastfeeding, it will ensure I’m meeting my daily protein needs and it’s also a great way for me to add in lots of other goodies such as sesame seeds, cacao nibs and chia seeds to increase the amount of nutrients going into my diet. Winning!

Creamy Vanilla Shake – Perfect for Pregnant Mumma’s

  • 1 cup of almond or coconut milk
  • ½ cup of water
  • 1 tbsp of white sesame seeds (rich in calcium)
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds (rich in omega-3’s)
  • 1 tsp of almond butter (full of healthy fats)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon powder (balances blood sugar levels)
  • 1 scoop of Garden of Life Vanilla Protein Powder

Blitz all the ingredients in your blender for 30 seconds or until smooth and creamy. Enjoy straight away or place in the fridge in an airtight container for the perfect snack on the go.

Chocolate Energy Boosting Shake – Perfect Pre or Post Workout

  • 1 cup of almond milk or coconut water
  • ½ cup of organic blueberries (rich in antioxidants)
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon powder (balances blood sugar levels)
  • 1 tsp of cacao nibs (a great source of magnesium)
  • 1 tsp of chia seeds (rich in omega 3’s)
  • handful of baby spinach leaves (great source of plant-based iron)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop of Garden of Life Chocolate Protein Powder

Blitz all the ingredients in your blender for 30 seconds, or until smooth and creamy. Enjoy straight away, or place in the fridge in an airtight container for the perfect snack on the go.

Sukin Baby Range

I’m excited to be able to share one of my absolute favourite baby skincare ranges, the incredible Sukin Baby range. Since falling pregnant I’ve been on the lookout for the best products for when bubs arrives. Now while there are a bunch of really cool ones available, I’ve honestly struggled to find anything as beautiful as this range.

The reason being that most of their products are sulphate and paraben free, they are reasonably priced, they smell delicious, they look adorable (which definitely pulled me in) and they are gentle enough to use on your baby’s skin. I have purchased one of each of the products in their range.  I figure my little one can get use to the smell of the range and I’m not having to run around Auckland picking up different products.

If you’ve never heard of this range before, then let me tell you they have four great products to choose from. A gentle body wash, a silky soft body lotion, a baby shampoo and a baby massage oil. Everything you need to make sure that your little bubs skin is looked after and cared for. I also love that the range is vegan and is not tested on animals, which as you know is something I always look for when trying a new product.

Artemis Breastfeeding and Pregnancy Tea


One of the really fun things about being pregnant is that there are all these amazing products that you finally get to finally use. Products that are designed to help you feel your best and this is one of them. I’ve always been a lover of the Artemis tea range and I knew as soon as I fell pregnant that I was going to be adding a few new teas to my collection. These turned out to be the pregnancy and breastfeeding teas, which are helping my body get ready for labour, as well as for post birth, when I’m needing to have a good milk supply.

I’ve been drinking the pregnancy tea on and off throughout my first two trimesters, but now that I’m in the home straight I’ve really stepped it up and am making sure that I’m having at least one cup a day. This tea is designed to nourish and strengthen my body for birth, help to ease any digestive issues and also assist with stress and fatigue. So yeah, pretty special and definitely a daily must at the moment.

The second tea that I’m really excited to try and which I’ve stocked up on, is the breastfeeding tea. This one is rich in aniseed, chamomile, nettle and raspberry leaf and is said to support optimal milk quality and supply. It is also said to support healthy digestion and help with recovery after birth.

Being the tea lover that I am, I just know that I’ll love having something that I can drink every day, that’s going to be supporting my body during this really big transition, while also helping me to feel my best during a time that I’ll be a little more tired than usual (haha).

Nutra Organics Vegetable Broth:

I was so excited when I found out that Nutra Organics were doing a range of vegetable broths, since there are so many bone broths out there but hardly any veggie based ones. I only recently came across these powders, but since giving them a go and adding them into my diet, I’ve fallen for them big time. First of all, they are so easy to use, you literally add a heaped tsp to a mug, add boiling water and viola you have a delicious, nourishing vegetable broth to enjoy. Or if you’re like me and you forget to pick up the vegetable stock when doing your weekly shop, you know you can easily just make a batch with this powder and then add it to your recipe.

This has saved me quite a few times and best of all I know I’m getting a really good broth, that is full of nutrients and probiotics. A definite must have for your pantry and/or for other “Mumma’s to be”, since it’s good to have lots of warming, nourishing foods and drinks after baby is born. I’m thinking this is going to become a daily essential in our house next year. 

Blue Dinosaurs Paleo Bars:

Right lovelies, the lucky last item that I’m going to share with you today, are the delicious Blue Dinosaur Paleo Bars. There are a couple of reasons why I wanted to share these bars with you. The first being that there are so many “not so great” muesli bars out there, that when I come across a decent one, I just had to share it. The second reason is that these are the best pregnancy snack.

I’ve been carrying these around for the last couple of months and I can’t tell you how handy they have been when those hunger pains strike (normally without any notice) or when I start to feel a little fatigued or nauseous. I actually plan on having a stash of these bars in the baby’s room (with some other delicious snacks), so that when I’m feeding I will have something close by that can get me through. I’m hoping this will also prevent any late night chocolate scavenges, but only time will tell.

If you’re interested in my favourite flavours, I would have to say Blueberry and Macadamia, as well as Sour Cherry and Brazilian. They have heaps of other flavours to choose and considering they’re literally made with nuts, dried fruit, coconut, dates and well really that’s pretty much all, you can indulge a little and try them all…. yum, yum, yum.

And there you have it, the end of another year of my favourite goodies from IE Produce. I have absolutely loved creating these monthly posts for you and I can’t wait to get back into them next year, just as soon as I learn to juggle things around new bubs. As mentioned at the start, I will be taking a break from my blog for a few months, but I’ll definitely be back into it as soon as I can.
